I’ve worked as a lead copywriter in London for global & national brands (like M&S, Holland & Barrett, Vogue, British Red Cross, Space NK, Neal’s Yard Remedies) for fifteen years. Some of my words won industry awards, but about ten years ago I started to struggle with chronic anxiety. Luckily, I found meditation & mindfulness and, with religious practice, they changed my life. They also shifted my career.
I now teach meditation & mindfulness, write fiction (and still dabble in copywriting when something fun comes up!). I feel lucky to have the writing skills to help market my meditation & mindfulness business and, having come more and more into contact with vital teachers & practitioners in the industry, I’ve been getting asked lots for copy tips, tricks, ideas and edits.
My ethos has changed. I no longer want to sell things people don’t need. And it saddens me to see products and services that don’t bring peace with the fuel of good copy. * A copywriter is the writery human behind the blurb you read on any brand’s packaging, website, billboard, flyer, email or social media post. They also write the script for any TV, tannoy or radio ad. Often spotted scribing away at the ad agency with sweat-beads and sore shoulders, they’re a key-player in brand building and awesome sales.

Please bring a notebook and pen. Plus written down basic info on a class, course, session, or event, you’d like to promote (we’ll be working with this).
As there’s a lot to cover this session won’t be going into writing bios per se. (Bios are also a lot to cover!). This session will however give you the basis of what you need to write a good bio and, depending on demand, I may do another workshop exclusively on bio writing.
